Sweet Crew,
Today I’d like to offer the Gayatri Mantra as a song for us to listen to, to connect, & (perhaps) to sing along with. I first learned this mantra in an ashram in Trivandrum where swamis would sing it at dusk & dawn. It has since been a prayer I turn to often to reconnect to my Self. This mantra comes from the Rig Veda & is considered the ‘Mother of the Vedas’
The lyrics... Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt
Translation by Donna Farhi Everything on earth, in between and above Is arising from one effulgent source. If my thoughts, words and deeds this complete understanding of unity, I would be the peace I am seeking in this moment.
Thank you for sharing this space with me. It is a privilege to have your time & attention. Thank you.
Please comment below or share about your experiences either today or with this mantra. Would love to hear them!
Bless,
Amy
P.S. This mantra is usually sung in a traditional meter (check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPp8yiu07fg)
